Man gets caution as toddler left in car in Doncaster

A man who left a toddler locked in a car has been given a caution by police.

A member of the public raised the alarm after seeing the child locked in a vehicle parked at Young Street, Doncaster, on Friday.

Police were forced to smash the windows of the car to free the three-year-old girl.

South Yorkshire Police said the 19-year-old man from Hull had been given the caution and the "matter was concluded".

The force did not disclose the length of time the child had been left in the car.
