Detectives investigating the murder of a man have released CCTV footage of "massive importance" to the inquiry.

Simon Holdsworth's body was discovered by a member of the public in land off Birley Spa Lane in Hackenthorpe, Sheffield, on 17 December last year.

Mr Holdsworth, 36, died as a result of head injuries.

Now police say CCTV pictures show a vehicle circling in the area and a person going into the field where Mr Holdsworth was found.

South Yorkshire Police said Mr Holdsworth had finished work at FBS Prestige in Intake at 22:55 GMT on Monday 16 December.

Police appealing for information on the BBC's Crimewatch programme said the vehicle and person in the newly-emerged CCTV pictures were very important to the inquiry team.

Temporary Det Supt Phil Etheridge: "I want to know who is the driver of that vehicle and also what type of vehicle it is."

The CCTV shows a vehicle pull in from Birley Spa Lane and slowly make its way along Delves Road at about 23:10 GMT.

A person is then seen entering the field from Delves Road followed shortly after by a person believed to be Simon Holdsworth.

After about a minute only one person leaves the field and the car drives off.
