A 30-year-old man from Maltby has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 45-year-old man died following a fight in a pub in South Yorkshire.

Police believe a number of people were involved in the incident at the Don John pub in Maltby on Sunday night.

Father-of-three Robert David Hurdley, from Dinnington, suffered a head injury and died later at Rotherham District General Hospital.

His family said he was "popular, lively and successful family man".

A 35-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder was released and is on bail for public order offences, police said.

Officers have appealed for anyone who was in the Don John or nearby pubs on Sunday evening to contact South Yorkshire Police.
