Wainstalls moorland fires burn for fourth day

Firefighters are spending a fourth day tackling a large moorland fire near Halifax in West Yorkshire.

About 20 firefighters are trying to contain the 1km-wide (1,100yd) blaze on moors above Cold Edge Road, Wainstalls, which has been burning since Saturday.

Four fire engines, a specially-equipped wild fire unit and a helicopter were being used at the scene, West Yorkshire Fire Service said.

The cause of the fire has not yet been established.
