Sky call centre creates 500 jobs

Satellite television company Sky has announced it is to open a call centre in Sheffield.

The plans will result in the creation of more than 500 jobs in the city, the firm said.

The leader of Sheffield City Council, Paul Scriven, said the announcement was "fantastic news".

A Sky spokeswoman said the centre was part of plans by the company to create 1,500 jobs across the UK. It is expected to open in July.
