More than 200 people have been nominated as unsung heroes or heroines in Sheffield and the city is preparing to pay tribute to their work.

An awards evening at the City Hall is set to honour the work of people who have made a difference to the lives of those around them.

Now 221 adults and youngsters have been nominated in categories including "Best Secret Angel" to "Braveheart Award".

The category winners will be announced on 26 November.

Sheffield's Night of Honour director Louise Davies said: "I am delighted that a record number of inspirational people have been nominated for this year's Night of Honour Awards.

"Judging the awards, as always, has been incredibly challenging.

"I'm sure the event will be a real tear-jerker."
