A fire in a flat in Bath brought disruption to the city centre, forcing roads to be closed off.

The fire above a restaurant in the Charles Street area broke out just before 13:00 BST.

Some First Bus services were affected and the operator warned of disruption and delays. Tour buses were also affected with its drop-off points.

Avon Fire and Rescue said no-one was injured and its crews were now damping down.

The fire service said the cause of the blaze was not yet known but it was contained within the area of origin and did not spread.

Police say the road closures were lifted at 15:30 BST.
