Enfield man remanded in custody over police officer attack in Weston

A 21-year-old man charged with grievous bodily harm after a police officer was attacked, has been remanded in custody.

Gilberto Venacio Kissa, 21, of Lytchet Way, Enfield, North London was held after the incident in Locking Road, Weston-super-Mare, on Monday evening.

The suspect has also been charged with possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

He was remanded in custody at North Somerset Magistrates' Court to appear at Bristol Crown Court on 27 July.
