A new north-south spine road is to be built in Weston-super-Mare as part of the town's villages project.

It will link the A370 and A371 and run through the proposed Parklands development - a mix of homes, business, employment and leisure facilities.

Parklands will contain nearly 3,500 homes on land including the former RAF Locking base.

The Weston villages project also includes building Winterstoke village on the old Weston airfield site.

Together they will provide some 5,800 homes and associated infrastructure.

Detailed information is available on the council's website and an exhibition takes place between 12:30 and 19:30 GMT on Tuesday at The Campus in Locking Castle to unveil the proposals.

Afterwards people can leave feedback on the plans until 16:00 GMT on 31 January.
