Taunton armed bank raider James Rashbrook is jailed

A man who admitted trying to rob a bank in Taunton town centre armed with a machete has been jailed for 30 months.

At Taunton Crown Court James Rashbrook, 32, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to attempted robbery and possession of a bladed item.

The raid took place at Lloyds Bank in Fore Street on 5 August just before midday - no money was taken.

Rashbrook was quickly apprehended by two customers who held him until police arrived, the court was told.
