Yeovil £6.5m road upgrade 'agreed' for A3088

A £6.5m plan to upgrade a key transport route into a Somerset town has been agreed "in principle" between a council and a government transport board.

The improvements are planned for the A3088 between Copse Road and the Lysander Road roundabout in Yeovil.

The scheme will help cut congestion, improve cycling paths, and link to planned housing and business areas.

Somerset County Council hopes the funding will be confirmed ahead of work starting in 2015.
