Burglars who broke into a house took jewellery, electrical goods - and the family dog, said police.

The four-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Kaiser, was stolen from a home in Hodnet, Market Drayton.

He was asleep in the utility room when thieves broke in overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday.

His owners, who have had Kaiser since he was a puppy, are "heartbroken". Police are appealing for anyone who knows where Kaiser is to contact them.
