Whitton solar farm plan rejected

Plans for a 42-acre solar farm in south Shropshire have been rejected.

Councillors unanimously turned down an application for more than 13,000 solar panels at Whitton, near Ludlow.

They rejected claims the solar farm would not affect views in a nearby area of outstanding natural beauty.

An application from EBS Energy for a larger farm on the same site was turned down last year. The energy company is already appealing against that decision by Shropshire Council.
