Ann Marie Rugg: Shrewsbury stab victim's sister jailed for fraud

The sister of a man fatally stabbed in Shrewsbury has been jailed for a year after fraudulently claiming his life insurance.

Ann Marie Rugg claimed she was the sole beneficiary of Paul Rugg's estate and pocketed tens of thousands of pounds.

The 47-year-old, of Abbots Close in Shrewsbury, admitted four counts of fraud at Shrewsbury Crown Court.

Mr Rugg, 52, was stabbed at his flat in Kynaston Road, Harlescott, in January 2010 and died in hospital.

Wayne Austin, 26, of Claverley Crescent, Harlescott, was jailed for manslaughter back in 2011.
