Bayston Hill A49 cyclist 'may be hit-and-run victim'

A cyclist has been killed in a suspected hit-and-run crash south of Shrewsbury.

A tractor driver found the man beside the A49, between Bayston Hill and Church Stretton, at about 05:00 BST.

The cyclist is believed to be a 61-year-old man from Bayston Hill but he has not yet been formally identified.

"It is believed the cyclist may have been involved in a collision with another vehicle that failed to stop following the incident," police said.

Police urged the driver to contact them.

The A49 was closed until about 17:20 BST while investigations took place.
