A new bridleway has been officially opened in Shropshire after 20 years in the planning.

The 46-mile Humphrey Kynaston Way runs from Grinshill to Church Stretton, linking up with other bridleways and footpaths.

Zia Robins, one of those behind the route, said it would help boost tourism in the area and encourage more walkers.

It was opened by the High Sheriff of Shropshire Robert Bland at the Preston Montford Field Studies Centre.

Gwilym Butler, in charge of leisure on Shropshire Council, said the new route had been made possible thanks to rights of way agreed with the Field Studies Council and the Highways Agency, as well as three private landowners.
