A busking festival is being held in Shrewsbury in memory of a man who was murdered on a canal footpath.

Guy Benson Bebbington, known as Ben, was found with head injuries between Ditherington Road and Telford Way in September 2012.

Bradley Davies, 18, and Stewart Doran, 21, both from Shrewsbury, were jailed for life for his murder last July.

The event has been organised by Mr Bebbington's friends and family as he was often seen busking in Shrewsbury.

Mr Bebbington's sister, Anne-Marie, said he would have been "immensely proud" to hear so much music in his memory as he was a talented musician.

The event, at various locations around the town centre, is being held on the weekend closest to what would have been his 45th birthday.
