Man killed on A529 in Shropshire named

A man whose body was found by the side of a road in Shropshire has been named by police.

Arnold Higgins, 19, was discovered near the A529 between Adderley and Market Drayton on Friday morning.

Officers believe he was hit by a vehicle while walking home in the dark some time after 16:15 GMT on Thursday.

Mr Arnold, from the local area, was confirmed dead at the scene. Police said they were "anxious" to trace the driver or any passengers involved.

They said it was possible, although "unlikely", that the driver was unaware of hitting Mr Higgins.

West Mercia Police called for anyone with information on the death to come forward.
