Shropshire road closed in bid to reduce flooding

A road will be shut for up to six weeks as work takes place to reduce flooding problems in part of Shropshire.

The A458 at Venus Bank, between Cross Houses and Cound on the Much Wenlock to Shrewsbury road, has suffered with flooding issues for some years, Shropshire Council said.

The authority added it was installing "a much improved drainage system" in the scheme starting on Monday.

Businesses between Shrewsbury and Much Wenlock will be open as usual.
