Arrests as man left tied up in Whitchurch armed raid

Two men have been arrested after an armed raid at a vending machine company in which an employee was left tied up.

A gang of up to five men forced their way into the Cherwells unit on the Waymills Industrial Estate in Whitchurch, Shropshire, at 07:00 BST.

Police said the men tied up a worker at the firm and escaped with a "significant" quantity of cigarettes.

The group left in a white van, thought to be heading towards Nantwich, in Cheshire.

The van was found on Merseyside and two men in their 40s were arrested.

No-one was injured in the raid.
