Ten people have been charged with violent disorder after trouble flared at a house party when group of young men allegedly gatecrashed the address.

About 50 people were invited to the party in Maesbrook, Shropshire, last December but trouble broke out when the group arrived at about 22:00 GMT.

A number of people were injured and some required hospital treatment.

The accused men are aged between 18 and 22 and mostly live in the Welshpool area of Powys.

Damage to the house and to several cars ran into thousands of pounds, West Mercia Police said.

The men have been given bail to appear before Shrewsbury magistrates on 1 and 8 of August.

One of them has also been charged with possessing an offensive weapon and dangerous driving.
