Bees 'could die' after Shrewsbury hives attack

Hibernating bees could die after six hives at a Shrewsbury allotment were pushed over by vandals, the owner of the hives has warned.

Three sheds were also burnt down on the land off Telford Way on Saturday night or Sunday morning, police said.

The owner of the hives told police he would try to transfer the hibernating bees to other hives.

However he said he feared the bees might not now survive the winter. Police have appealed for information.
