Man held on suspicion of murder bid released

A man held on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was found with head injuries at a Shropshire house has been released without charge.

The 51-year-old woman, who died on Sunday night, was found in Ashbourne Close, Dawley, Telford, after emergency services were called at about 1200 GMT.

Post-mortem examination results revealed she died of head injuries consistent with a fall, police said.

A man in his 40s was released. Police have stood down their scene guard.

The woman was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital in the town.
