Snowy footprints lead to Shropshire lead theft arrests

Three people were arrested on suspicion of stealing lead after police followed snowy footprints.

Police were called to a premises in Stafford Street, Market Drayton, in Shropshire in the early hours of Tuesday after a call from the owner.

Officers said they disturbed the thieves and followed footprints from the property to a nearby estate and arrested three people.

Two men, aged 20 and 21, were cautioned and a teenager released without charge.

A wheelie bin containing suspected stolen lead was also recovered from the scene, West Mercia Police said.
