Girl 'critical' after collision in Baschurch

A 17-year-old girl is seriously ill in hospital after being hit by a car in Shropshire.

It is thought the teenager was attempting to cross Shrewsbury Road in Baschurch when she was in collision with a silver Suzuki Wagon R+ Estate.

She was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital with serious head injuries following the incident on Monday.

Police said she was in a critical but stable condition. Officers appealed for witnesses to contact them.

The road was closed for about two hours while the emergency services worked at the scene, the spokesman added.
