Oxford Half Marathon: Record numbers of competitors take part
A record 8,357 people have taken part in Oxford's latest half marathon.
The seventh annual event had a 13.1 mile (21km) route, starting at 09:30 BST on Broad Street and finishing in Parks Road.
The first to cross the finish line was Joe Morwood, with a time of one hour, seven minutes and 52 seconds.
Oxford City Council warned motorists of numerous roads closures in the city centre from 06:00, with diversions in place.
The fastest woman was Kim Horner, at one hour, 18 minutes and 34 seconds, and the fastest wheelchair athlete was Gary Cooper with one hour, nine minutes and 24 seconds.
The route though the city took in many landmarks, including the Clarendon Building, Old Marston and the Radcliffe Camera.
Organisers said roads were expected to reopen as runners completed each section of the route, with all routes reopened by 18:00 BST.
