The family of a man who was stabbed to death have described him as a "kind, loving and caring man".

Domingos Ramalho, 35, from Oxford, was attacked on Monday in Windmill Road, in the Headington area of the city.

Egidio Da Silva Alves, 27, of The Slade, Oxford, has been charged with murder and possessing a bladed weapon.

A statement said Mr Ramalho was a "trusted friend to many and a family man dedicated to his partner and children".

"His sudden loss affects us all greatly and he will always be in our hearts and prayers and will never be forgotten," it added.

Mr Da Silva appeared at Oxford Crown Court on Thursday and was remanded in custody. He is due back in court on 25 April.
