Oxford man arrested after 164 bikes found in back garden

A man has been arrested after 164 bicycles were seized from a back garden in Oxford.

Thames Valley Police said they stopped the 48-year-old at about midday on Monday pushing one bike and carrying another in Littlemore.

Officers registered the cycles as stolen and found a further 164 when they visited his house on Tuesday.

They are now working through the bikes to find out how many have been reported stolen.

In a tweet the police said: "If we find yours, we will be in touch."

The man was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and has been bailed until 8 May.
