Three more men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was hit by a car following a fight.

The victim, who is in his 20s, remains in a critical condition in hospital following the fight on Coopers Gate, in Banbury, on Friday evening.

Three other men from Banbury had already been arrested in connection with the incident.

Weapons were involved in the fight on Friday but police do not believe there is a danger to the public.

Over the weekend they arrested a 24-year-old man and a 30-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder. They have been released on bail until 28 November.

A 31-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and released on police bail.

Two men, aged 38 and 26 - who had been arrested previously - have also been released on police bail. A 29-year-old remains in custody.

Officers are still asking for anyone with information to contact them on 101.
