Oxford man dies in M40 crash after car leaves motorway

A motorist was killed when the car he was driving left the road and ended up on its roof on the M40 in Oxfordshire.

The silver VW Golf came off the northbound carriageway between junctions 10 and 11 near Banbury at about 20:20 GMT on Sunday.

Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses and said the car had gone down an embankment and overturned.

The driver, a 50-year-old man from Headington in Oxford, died at the scene.
