An Oxford college has taken over full ownership of a science and technology business estate.

Magdalen College acquired a 50% share held by M&G Real Estate for £18.1m, giving it 100% control of Oxford Science Park.

More than 60 companies, employing more than 2,400 people, are based at the park, south of Oxford city centre.

The college said it had "ambitious plans" for 300,000 sq ft (28,000 sq m) of new office and laboratory space.

Oxford Science Park opened in 1991 to accommodate science and technology businesses and support innovation and development.

Current tenants at the park include Amey, IBM, Oxford Nanopore, Sharp Laboratories and TripAdvisor.
