Didcot flat fire leaves four people seriously injured

Two adults and two children have been taken to hospital with life-threatening or life-changing injuries after a fire at a flat in Oxfordshire.

Firefighters were called after the blaze broke out at about 23:45 GMT on Thursday in Mendip Heights, in Didcot.

Two girls, aged two and six, and a man and woman in their twenties were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.

In addition two or three people were treated by paramedics for the effects of smoke inhalation.

A fire service investigation has now been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
