A minute's silence is to be held in memory of the 16-year-old brother of an Oxford United player who died after being hit by a car in Buckinghamshire.

James Roberts' younger brother Ben was stuck by a red Seat Leon on the B4544 Weston Road, in Weston Turville, on Saturday evening.

The club said a minute's silence would be held before Saturday's home game against Wimbledon.

The driver of the car was uninjured, Thames Valley Police said.

In a statement on its website, the club offered its "sincerest condolences to the Roberts family".

It added both Oxford United and Chester, where forward James Roberts is currently on loan, would allow him "as much time as he feels he needs before he returns to playing football".
