The timetable for a major new Oxford to London rail line has been unveiled.

It includes two fast trains an hour throughout the day between Oxford Parkway and Bicester Village station and London in under an hour.

Work is ongoing at the new Oxford Parkway station and the refurbished Bicester Village station. The line opens on 26 October.

Graham Cross, director at Chiltern Railways, called it an "incredibly exciting and important milestone".

The new timetable indicates there will be three departures from Oxford Parkway to London Marylebone between 06:00 and 07:00.

Journeys will take on average about an hour, and there will be links to High Wycombe, Princes Risborough and Haddenham & Thame Parkway.

The announcement follows a consultation with commuters in the autumn.
