Canal boat fire remains indentified as Kevin Pryor
Human remains discovered in a burned houseboat on the Oxford Canal have been formally identified.
Kevin Pryor, 49, died in a fire on the boat moored in Wolvercote on 16 November. His remains were found on board after forensic investigations.
An initial post-mortem examination proved inconclusive, but Mr Pryor's identity was confirmed following further inquiries.
Police have confirmed they are not treating the death as suspicious.
Det Insp Mike Lynch, from Thames Valley Police, said: "We are still awaiting the results of further forensic tests to establish the cause of Mr Pryor's death.
"My thoughts are very much with Mr Pryor's family and friends, who have been coming to terms with his tragic death."
