Former Oxfordshire teacher admits abusing 10 girls

A former Oxfordshire schoolteacher has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting 10 girls over a period of five years.

The 52-year-old also admitted 12 other offences relating to indecent images of children at Oxford Crown Court.

Detectives said the charges related to a school, which cannot be named for legal reasons, in Oxfordshire.

The man also asked for seven similar offences to be taken into consideration and was remanded in custody to be sentenced on 17 January.

DVDs found

The man admitted 17 counts of assault against girls under 13 between 2004 and 2009 by way of intentional sexual touching, possessing five discs containing 241 indecent images of children, 10 counts of taking indecent photographs in 2006 and one count of voyeurism - recording a private act - between September 2004 and July 2005.

The case came to light when a member of staff at the school was clearing out a cupboard and found 11 DVDs containing indecent pictures of children and pictures of children engaging in sexual acts.

The court heard the teacher had already been jailed in 2010 when he pleaded guilty to 25 offences against eight pupils.

The teacher, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to be sentenced in January - the same month he had been due to be released from prison.
