Two held over Thames Valley Police data probe

Two more people have been arrested by officers investigating alleged computer misuse by a serving police officer.

Thames Valley Police said a 25-year-old female officer was arrested on Thursday under the Data Protection Act.

A 25-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested in Birmingham in the early hours of Friday.

The man was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting data protection offences and the woman arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

The Oxford-based police officer, who was arrested following an internal investigation by the force's Professional Standards Department, has been suspended from duty and released on bail until 7 March.
