The guide to a historical walking route through the Oxfordshire countryside has been published online.

The 65-mile Oxfordshire Way runs between the Cotswold town of Bourton-on-the-Water and the banks of the River Thames at Henley-on-Thames.

Large-scale maps of the route can be downloaded from the council's website.

Councillor Rodney Rose said: "This site is a first class resource which will enable people to experience the best of the Oxfordshire countryside.

The walk takes in two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty; the Cotswold Hills and the Chilterns landscape.

It includes prehistoric tracks, Domesday Book manors and medieval churches as well as crossing the estate of Blenheim Park, which is a World Heritage site.
