Woman, 101, 'shaken' after Oxford home break-in

A 101-year-old woman was left "shaken" when two men broke into her home in Oxford.

She heard someone trying to force open her front door in Nelson Street, Jericho, on Wednesday evening and alerted a private alarm firm.

Police arrived in about 15 minutes and found the door open, but the offenders had already left. Nothing was stolen.

Witnesses have reported seeing two white men wearing dark clothes leaving the property.

One of the offenders was said to be about 5ft 10ins with collar-length hair, while the other was about 5ft 8ins with short hair around the sides which was slicked back on top.

Pc David Kuttner said: "The victim was obviously quiet shaken by what happened, but thankfully was unharmed in the incident.

"I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen these men to come forward and speak to us."
