Woman pedestrian hit by car in Banbury dies in hospital

A woman pedestrian has died in hospital after being hit by a car in Oxfordshire.

The 48-year-old, from Banbury, was struck by the Toyota Corolla in Gatteridge Street, Banbury.

She was taken to Horton General Hospital for treatment following the incident on Saturday evening but died shortly afterwards.

The car driver, who was uninjured, was questioned by officers but has not been arrested.

The scene of the crash was closed for three hours by police.
