A man has been found guilty of killing another man who fell down a stairway after being pushed from the top.

Anthony Bebbington, aged 24, was convicted of the manslaughter of 26-year-old Paul Howkins, who died from a head injury.

Mr Howkins died at the Horton General Hospital on 10 March, two days after the fall at Ruscote Arcade, Banbury.

Bebbington, of Longelandes Way, was remanded in custody before sentencing on 15 December at Oxford Crown Court.

Det Ch Insp Joe Kidman, who led the investigation, said: "This was a tragic incident in which a 26-year-old man lost his life.

"Thames Valley Police carried out a thorough investigation and I am content that the jury have reached the conclusion that reflects the evidence heard in court.

"My thoughts, and that of the investigation team, remain with Paul's family as they work to cope with their loss."
