Woman 'stable' after fatal Oxfordshire fire

A woman is in a stable condition in hospital after being rescued from a fire which led to the death of a man.

The man, aged in his 60s, died in hospital after the blaze at a bungalow in Lavender Close, Banbury, Oxfordshire, early on Saturday.

Fire crews had rescued him from a front bedroom and saved the woman from the back of the property.

The woman is recovering at Horton Hospital. The non-suspicious fire is being investigated.

The fire service said there was nothing to suggest it was linked to bonfire night.
