Didcot Parkway railway station to get £5.7m revamp

Didcot Parkway railway station in Oxfordshire is set to get a multi-million pound revamp.

Oxfordshire County Council has agreed to fund most of the £5.7m project.

South Oxfordshire District Council is set to put £800,000 towards the scheme. Work is set to start in April next year.

More than three million people use the station every year and the work is designed to give it a total overhaul and to improve access for passengers.

County council leaders said the scheme was still going ahead despite the widespread spending cuts announced by the government last month.
