Woman killed after being hit by car in Nottingham

A woman has died after being hit by a car near to the entrance of a park in Nottingham.

Nottinghamshire Police said the incident happened in Derby Road, near Wollaton Park, at about 23:20 BST on Saturday.

The 26-year-old female pedestrian was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre but later died.

A 24-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

They have since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The A52 was closed from the Derby Road island near the Queen's Medical Centre, but has since reopened.
