Cat's leg removed after 'air rifle attack' in Nottingham
A cat has had to have her leg amputated after being shot at with an air rifle.
Phoebe's owners grew concerned when she limped up the stairs after being let of the house last weekend.
She was taken to a vet in Nottingham where x-rays revealed her front left leg had been shattered by the rifle pellet and needed to be removed.
Owner Tina Humphreys was told her cat "might not have survived" if the pellet had gone in at another angle. The RSPCA said it was investigating.
It is thought the attack took place near Ms Humphreys' home in Glebe Road, Carlton.
Ms Humphreys said: "She is back home now and the vets are really pleased with her progress, but she is in such a sorry state."
