Body found during Gedling County Park run 'not suspicious'

The death of a man whose body was discovered in a park close to where people were taking part in a 5km run is not suspicious, police have said.

The man was found at Gedling Country Park, in Nottinghamshire, on Saturday.

Detectives confirmed the man's identity and thanked the media and the public for their assistance.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said the force had begun contacting members of the man's family.

Ch Insp Phil Davies said the body - which was found at 09:20 GMT - could have been there for several days.
