Tony Fisher death: Nine arrested following 'burglary' stab death

Nine people have been arrested after a man was found stabbed to death at his home following a suspected burglary.

Tony Fisher, 58, was found by his son on Saturday afternoon in his house on Coningswath Road, Carlton, Nottingham.

Seven men aged between 22 and 47 and two women aged 28 and 42 were arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday and are being held in police custody.

Detectives believe Mr Fisher was targeted as it was thought he had a large amount of cash in the house.

Det Supt Rob Griffin said a "key time" for the investigation was between 22:30 and 23:00 GMT on Friday and urged people to think back to whether they saw anything suspicious.

"Entry was forced to the house," he said. "We believe Tony was targeted because... they expected him to have a large amount of money in the house."
