Mansfield hit-and-run crash suspects arrested

A man and a woman have been arrested over a hit-and-run crash that left two pedestrians injured.

One of the pedestrians, a 31-year-old woman, is in a serious condition in hospital after the incident in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

The other pedestrian, a 28-year-old man, was treated in hospital for minor injuries.

A yellow Citroen D3 reportedly hit them in Haddon Road, at its junction with the A60, at about 4:30 BST.

Nottinghamshire Police said the car then left the scene.

A 27-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were later arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

Police said they were still in custody and due to be questioned.
