Man, 95, dies after crash involving police car in Nottingham

A 95-year-old motorist has died following a crash involving a police car in Nottingham.

The man was driving a Vauxhall Corsa on Green Lane, near the A453, in Clifton when it was in collision with a police Volvo on 17 December.

The driver of the Corsa was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre but died on Sunday. The police driver has been treated for shock.

It is one of five fatalities on roads in Nottinghamshire in the past week.

On Monday, a 25-year-old man died and two others were injured after a crash in Beacon Hill Road, near Newark.

Teresa Mitchell, 38, from Mansfield, and Ricky Goodall, 24, from Sutton-in-Ashfield, died in a collision with a motorcyclist in Mansfield Woodhouse on Friday night.

The motorcyclist, Alan Dexter, 47, from Pleasley Vale in Derbyshire, was also killed in the crash.
