A fire has broken out at a recycling plant in Nottinghamshire for the second time this month.

Wood and wood chippings caught fire at the recycling centre in Shireoaks Road, Worksop, on Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters warned residents nearby to stay indoors and keep their windows closed due to smoke.

More than 40 firefighters tackled the first blaze, which involved household waste products, on 3 August.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue said: "This fire is in a different location to the previous one the service was called to, and they are not thought to be linked."

He said crews had managed to bring the blaze under control and would spend much of Thursday at the site ensuring it was safe.
